Long distance moves require a different level of planning and licensing than local moves. Our long-haul crews are registered with the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles and run moves that start and end inside Texas. Cypress long distance moves lean toward two profiles: young corporate families outbound to Austin or Dallas on job transfers, and energy families rotating out to Midland and Odessa.
Every Cypress long-distance move ships with a binding-not-to-exceed quote, published per-hundred-weight tariff, and a single-driver truck, with no truck swaps along the way and no consolidated loads. If the destination isn't ready on delivery day, we hold the shipment in our on-site Cypress storage bays at published SIT rates instead of overnighting the truck at driver expense.
What Makes Long Distance Moving Different
When your move covers more than 100 miles within Texas, it is still a Texas move, so it runs under a state license: our TxDMV household goods certificate, #009932014C. If your new home is in another state, you need a carrier with federal FMCSA authority; we do not hold it, so we only book moves that stay in Texas.
Long distance pricing works differently too — rather than an hourly rate, we provide a binding estimate based on the weight of your shipment and the distance to your destination. This protects you from surprise charges at delivery.
We assign a dedicated move coordinator to every long distance job. They stay in contact from pickup through delivery, tracking your shipment and giving you updated arrival windows.
Planning Your Long Distance Move
The most important step in any long distance move is an accurate inventory. We walk through your home room by room, cataloging every item and flagging anything that needs special handling: antiques, artwork, large appliances, and fragile pieces.
We provide professional packing for all long distance moves. Furniture is wrapped in moving blankets and secured with stretch wrap. Boxes are packed to prevent shifting during transit — damage from poorly packed boxes is the number one cause of long distance claims.
Pickup and delivery windows are scheduled in advance. We give you a delivery window of 1–3 days for destinations within Texas, depending on distance and route.
Full-Value Coverage and Claims
Standard carrier liability covers only $0.60 per pound — enough to cover a box of books but not your 65-inch TV. We offer full-value replacement coverage for all long distance moves, covering your items at their actual replacement cost.
Claims, when they happen, are handled directly by us — not outsourced to a third-party claims company. We take ownership of the process and resolve issues within 30 days.
Cypress to Permian Basin Energy Transfers and Other Texas Lanes
Long distance routes out of this base run heavily to oil and gas rotation destinations, with Midland and Odessa in the Permian Basin at the top of the list. A dispatcher confirms weight tickets at the Highway 290 scale before departure and files the trip log under our USDOT number. Bridgeland engineering families rotating on 28-day hitches book two-day pickup-to-delivery windows, and we lock rate before the truck leaves Mueschke Road.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you handle interstate moves?
We don't. Our license covers household moves that begin and end in Texas, from Cypress to Austin, Dallas, Midland or anywhere else in the state. An interstate move requires a carrier with federal FMCSA authority, and we do not hold that authority.
What is a binding estimate?
A binding estimate locks in your price based on the weight of your shipment and distance. Unlike non-binding estimates, the final price cannot exceed the binding amount — even if your shipment weighs more than estimated.
How long does a long distance move take?
Most moves we run inside Texas deliver in 1–3 business days. We give you a delivery window at booking.
How much does long distance moving cost from Cypress?
Long distance moves from Cypress are priced by weight and mileage. A two-bedroom home move to Dallas typically runs $1,800–$2,800. Call (346) 715-8362 for a binding estimate.
